Equator Aircraft NDA

Equator Aircraft Company of Oslo, Norway is driven to create a technologically advanced amphibious LSA. The revolutionary aircraft will feature a floating wing design pioneered by Guenter Poeschel and will be capable of landing on both land as well as water.

The company is currently in the process of designing and building the EQP2 Excursion prototype. The prototype will feature a combustion engine and will be flown as a proof of concept aircraft. The actual production Excursion aircraft will use an electric motor to propel the aircraft.

The Excursion prototype will begin flight testing at the end of 2013.

openAE has committed a number of resources in helping the Equator Company achieve their goals. Currently members of the core openAE team are pioneering the conceptual aircraft design of the prototype. openAE's work is strictly on a voluntary basis and features development of a new type of an LSA class aircraft.

OAO is a community of passionate individuals led by Ralph Ewig (PhD) set on a collective goal of establishing a permanent human presence in space. The community is at the beginning stages of growth and looking for talented and driven individuals to contribute to the cause.

OAO has the mission to create, collect, share, and implement the knowledge
and skills that enable the peaceful expansion of humanity into space.

The framework of the OAO community has been set up in a manner which encourages a goal driven development of the project. Individuals can take on tasks and roles easily in the community; working when they can and on what they want. With a wonderful knowledgeable leader at the helm, the potential of this project is boundless.

In many ways, OAO is a counterpoint to openAE. Where openAE is driven in content more by aeronautics, OAO has a concrete focus on astronautics.
