USAF Digital DATCOM
The openAE community is proud to bring you the COMPLETE software source code to the software program known as Digital DATCOM or DigDat. This software source code comes completely in entirety from the USAF. Digital DATCOM is a software program which allows the user to analyze the static and dynamic stability of an aircraft given a few geometric parameters.
This source code is in use by the OpenDatcom program and the DATCOM+ software packages. Although it should be noted that the DATCOM+ software package offers a limited distribution of the software and has a couple of the Digital DATCOM software outputs turned OFF.
The Digital DATCOM source code is offered completely FREE for distribution and release by the openAE community. To control the release and distribution of the source code, the openAE community signed each file with a GNU digital signature.
What does this mean, well, for users it means literally very little. The Digital DATCOM source code distributed by the openAE community is free to distribute and use as any user sees fit. On the other hand, for users who wish to modify the source code, this does play a role. The openAE community signed each and every source file meaning, that the community can check if any of the source code files were modified in contrast to the files which are distributed on this website.
openAE will soon set up a repository allowing users to easily checkout, modify and develop the code through an IDE. This initiative will hopefully debug the current FORTRAN source files and help match the Digital DATCOM program closer in output as its paper counterpart. The previously mentioned signature allows everyone to keep the soon to be modified version separate from the original.
All users which download, distribute, compile, and modify this code are free to do so without adherence to any license.
