This is the original source which we have received in entirety from the USAF Controls branch WITHOUT any modification or tampering.
We were so careful in distribution and packaging of this source code that we even digitally signed each and every source file with an openAE.org key. What this means is that if anyone modified or tampered with the code released on this website, the openAE administration team will be able to tell the difference.
This signature was done to keep some kind of digital control on the source of the program distributed. We do not seek to be the best at anything, but we would like to keep track of the source code we distribute and modifications done to it.
We sorely admit that Digital DATCOM is not perfect, and modification to the original source code is an inevitable possibility, however, the modified code of the Digital DATCOM should be knowingly kept separate from the source code. This is why we signed all the source files and can double check them in a matter of minutes.
